Naples is a very interesting city. It is located in southern Italy and was originally founded by the Greeks. The name “Naples” actually means “New City.” This city is over 2,500 years old and has a rich tradition in art and culture. Later the area was occupied by the Romans and it was a very important city for the Roman Empire. Like many other Italian cities, it is listed by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site. There are almost four million people who live in Naples which makes it the second largest city in all of Italy.
